Giving Day is upon us and we invite you to prayerfully consider if God is calling you to financially contribute to the advancement of Jonah Foundation. Even if you are not a believer, hear us out.

Perhaps you know someone who has been incarcerated. Maybe you have a family member who has struggled with a destructive habit or mindset that has upended or even threatened their life. Have you yourself by the grace of God overcome an army of thoughts, despair or stumbling blocks that once threatened to defeat you completely?

There are countless families in our area who have been wounded in the snares of trauma and sin. Often these traps become cycles that lead to substance use disorder, consuming anger or hopelessness, and even generational incarceration. For these individuals it seems the nightmare will never end and they cannot help but be enslaved to whatever they have turned to for relief. They suffer the consequences. They lose a loved one, or one walks away. They go so far as to step on the edge of death. Whatever it is, something happens that causes them to say enough is enough.

Psalm 18:28-32 exults:

"You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?"

In the glow of newfound hope, many do not know how to proceed. Their community is a death-sentence, even their loved ones are not safe and with the fall-out of their destructive paths, the road to transformation and freedom is unclear. One question is consistently raised: "What now?"

Jonah Foundation is answering that question. We have stepped out to open a Christ-centered re-entry sober-living home for men in our area who have struggled, fallen, and decided enough is enough. This is not a halfway house; it is not a flop house. This is a 1-2-year program founded on biblically principled living, the proven peer-led social model of accountability, private biblical counseling, and fellowship with strong men worthy of being called mentors.

2024 has proven to be an incredibly fruitful year of planning, program building, strategic partnerships, and increased community leadership support. We welcome you to join this mission with us this Giving Tuesday.

You can donate here securely, or you can mail your donation to Jonah Foundation, P.O. Box 1554, Big Rapids, MI 49307.
